Wellness is a broad concept.

According to the World Health Organization, Wellness is “the state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

Dr. Halbert L. Dunn began using the phrase high level wellness in the 1950’s however the concept of wellness became popular in the 1970’s.

By definition, Wellness is the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind especially as a result of deliberate effort. Also referenced as an approach to healthcare that emphasises preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasising treating diseases.

We invite you to think of wellness as meaning being healthy in many dimensions of our lives. That includes the emotional, physical, occupational, intellectual, financial, social, environmental, and spiritual parts. These dimensions are interconnected, one dimension building on another.

Wellness is the path we choose towards a more successful and healthy life.

Wellness is a choice we make every day to move toward disease or move toward optimal health and maximum life.

Wellness is the complete integration of body, mind and spirit – The realisation that everything we do, think, feel and believe has an effect on our state of wellbeing.

Wellness is a way of life!

An approach to life we each design to achieve our highest potential for well-being now and forever. No matter what our state of health, Wellness calls for continuing improvement and self-renewal in all areas of life.

Life’s obligations, stress, crisis or trauma can affect or change our routine and habits. This can lead to emotional, social or physical imbalance. Establishing new, better habits that support our health goals and values can be challenging, but it is critical to our overall health. Developing healthier routines and habits in our lives leads to positive feelings, increased energy, inspiration and the ability to use our creative talents, skills and abilities to enhance our professional, intellectual and spiritual lives.

When we are under constant load and stress, we need to change the environment, travel, take shelter, quiet the mind. However, we don’t always have the time and money to travel and go out of town. For this reason, Wellness and spa centers have gained such an important role in the life of modern man. They are located near us, in our city, where we can park our car and take a break from all obligations and stress for two or three hours, and recover our body and soul as if we had taken a vacation.

The body relaxes with water, we get rid of toxins by sweating in the sauna and steam bath, we heal from the effects of stress with a massage, our skin gets a glow and is rejuvenated by being cared for with facials and scrubs, we get rid of accumulated emotions and stress with physical activities and strengthen the body. With all that, we relax and our spirit recovers. In a relaxed state and in a better mood, our mind has the opportunity to quiet down and allow inspiration and creative ideas to become solutions to various problems.

Wellness care is truly a holistic approach to health and balance.

Nowadays, wellness is no longer a luxury. Wellness is an investment in prevention. Investing in a quality life and health. A map to better relationships. When we are well, we are better for our loved ones.

Sometimes, when one does not have enough time, one needs to slow down.
